Started in 2009 zombie-aid set out with the aim to allow zombie and horror fans to have fun, whilst trying to raise money for good causes. Zombie-Aid quickly spread from Manchester to Birmingham and in 2010 8 Major UK towns and cities. In 2009 Zombie-Aid raised and donated almost £3,000 to charity, in 2010 Zombie-Aid raised over £3,000 to charities. In 2010 Zombie-Aid presented the UK's First Halloween Parade in Manchester. This was a huge success for the participants and the city. 2011 sees more events popping up over the UK and the first Zombie-Aid outside the UK will be held in Boston USA in November 2011. Zombie-Aid thanks you all for your support and is run by voluntary organisers in each city. If it was not for their hard work none of this would be possible. Please note - Whilst Zombie-Aid does all it can to raise money for our chosen charities occasionally costs need to be covered. Sadly the Manchester Halloween Parade that was a Zombie-Aid initiative cost more to put on than what was raised. On this occasion only money from the charity single reached charity. The Charities involved with the Halloween Parade were fully aware of this but were still happy with the outcome stating "thank you for a wonderful time and helping raise awareness for our organisation." The Halloween Parade was not a zombie walk. We hope that with the right funding we can continue the Halloween Parade and make it a regular event. 2010's sponsor SMIFFY'S have shown interest in the parade and together we will be looking at hosting another parade in 2012. | |
